vardaris Privacy policy

Vardaris collects nothing. There are no accounts, analytics, crash reports, ads or third-party SDKs. Data goes between your Mac and the devices and hosts you connect to, and that's all.
Who this is
The app is developed and copyrighted by Mikhail A. Matveev ("the Developer") and distributed on the Mac App Store by Elizaveta Fragner, Halskestr. 34 A, 12167 Berlin, Germany ("the Publisher"). Serial ports and network connections
Vardaris opens the serial device you select, and the TCP or telnet host you type in. What you send and receive over those connections is shown on your screen and, if you turn on forwarding, relayed to the second port or host you configured. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
The app makes no connection of its own: no update check, no telemetry, no remote configuration. If you never open a TCP connection, it never touches the network.
Files you create
- Captures are written to the folder you choose, in the format you choose.
- Session files (
.vardaris) are saved where you save them. They hold settings, including the port or host name, but no traffic.
The app is sandboxed, and can only write where you have pointed it with an open or save panel. It never sends, indexes or reports on these files.
Settings stored on your Mac
So the app opens the way you left it, it keeps the current session's settings and
the folder you chose for captures in its own sandboxed container,
~/Library/Containers/tech.rh1.vardaris. Deleting the app removes them.
No third parties
There is no embedded analytics, advertising or crash-reporting library. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
If you download the app from the Mac App Store, that transaction is between you and Apple and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Apple reports sales to developers only in aggregate: figures and territories, nothing that identifies a person.
This website
These pages are static files. There are no cookies, no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party requests; the typefaces are served from this domain rather than a font CDN. The hosting provider may keep ordinary server access logs, as every web server does.
Your controls
- Captures and session files are yours to keep, move or delete in the Finder.
- Deleting the app takes its settings with it and leaves your files alone.
Because nothing is collected, there is no data of yours for us to hand over, correct or delete on request. A request under the GDPR, the CCPA or any comparable law would find nothing on our side to act on.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If a future version ever needs to send something off your Mac, this page will say so before that version ships, with the date above updated and the App Store privacy label changed to match.
